{"id":1150,"date":"2023-04-27T05:24:16","date_gmt":"2023-04-27T05:24:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/news\/?p=1150"},"modified":"2023-06-06T11:31:01","modified_gmt":"2023-06-06T11:31:01","slug":"the-norwegian-bliss-has-completed-five-years-of-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/news\/norwegian-cruise-line\/the-norwegian-bliss-has-completed-five-years-of-service","title":{"rendered":"The Norwegian Bliss has completed five years of service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This month marks the completion of five years of service for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/ships\/norwegian-bliss\">Norwegian Bliss<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/cruise-lines\/norwegian-cruise-line\">Norwegian Cruise Line<\/a> delivered its third Breakaway-Plus ship, a 164,600-ton vessel, in April 2018.<\/p>\n<p>After being built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, the Bliss first sailed to Southampton before crossing the Atlantic to New York.<\/p>\n<p>After being presented to U.S. media and VIPs at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal, the 4,200-guest vessel headed for Miami, Los Angeles, and Seattle &#8211; where it will be based during its maiden season.<\/p>\n<div class=\"articles-video text-center\"><iframe class=\"hide\" loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/D-E3aNiDAIE\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>At its debut, the Bliss became the largest ship ever to cross the Panama Canal, custom-designed for Alaska.<\/p>\n<p>During a special ceremony in Seattle, Elvis Duran christened the Norwegian Bliss before it welcomed it is first paying guests.<\/p>\n<p>A seven-night Alaska cruise was first offered by the vessel in early June. In addition to Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, and Victoria, the program provided a roundtrip from the Washington homeport.<\/p>\n<p>The Norwegian Bliss was Norwegian Cruise Line&#8217;s third Breakaway-Plus ship, following the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/ships\/norwegian-escape\">Norwegian Escape<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/ships\/norwegian-joy\">Norwegian Joy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to an enhanced Observation Lounge, an open-air laser tag circuit, and a two-deck go-kart raceway, the ship was designed with improved features and experiences.<\/p>\n<p>There is also a wide selection of specialty dining venues on the Norwegian Bliss, including a new concept for Norwegian, the Q Texas Smokehouse.<\/p>\n<p>The BBQ house is one of the most prominent onboard restaurants featuring live country music and a themed menu.<\/p>\n<p>Bliss is adorned with hull art like the rest of Norwegian&#8217;s fleet.
