On the Discovery Princess, Princess Cruises<\/a> welcomed Colonel James H. Harvey III, one of the surviving Tuskegee Airmen, on his 100th birthday celebration cruise to Alaska<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During World War II, Lieutenant Colonel Harvey served as part of a group of African American pilots in the United States Army Air Corps and Air Force (USAF).<\/p>\n

Known as the Tuskegee Airmen, he was a former fighter pilot with the 332nd Fighter Group’s 99th Squadron.<\/p>\n

The Discovery Princess<\/a> crew and hundreds of people joined in to wish Harvey a very happy birthday on board the ship as the McChord Field Honor Guard presented him with a USAF traditional display of colors.<\/p>\n
