{"id":1649,"date":"2023-05-31T06:16:46","date_gmt":"2023-05-31T06:16:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/news\/?p=1649"},"modified":"2025-06-18T04:53:34","modified_gmt":"2025-06-18T04:53:34","slug":"costa-serena-restarts-sailings-in-asia-in-june-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/news\/costa-cruises\/costa-serena-restarts-sailings-in-asia-in-june-2023","title":{"rendered":"Costa Serena Restarts sailings in Asia In June 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Costa Serena returned to Asia earlier this month, marking the return of the entire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/cruise-lines\/costa-cruises\/ships\">Costa Cruises fleet<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>With guests arriving earlier than planned, the 2007-built vessel started charter operations for Southeast Asian and Far Eastern travel agencies.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the first voyage, a program of short cruises was offered departing from Laem Chabang, Thailand.<\/p>\n<p>The operation will visit Vietnam, Cambodia, and other destinations in Thailand, followed by a series of charter cruises in South Korea.<\/p>\n<div class=\"articles-video text-center\"><iframe class=\"hide\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wEj6r60_6DM\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>In addition to Busan, Sokcho and Pohang, the program extends to the end of June.<\/p>\n<p>A trip to Taiwan is planned for the Costa Serena in July. The vessel is scheduled to offer a series of four- to seven-night cruises to Japanese ports, including Sasebo, Kagoshima, Otaru, Hakodate, Naha, Miyakojima, and Ishigaki, during the remainder of the summer season.<\/p>\n<p>A year-round service in Asia since 2015, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/ships\/costa-serena\">Costa Serena<\/a>, Costa Venezia, and Costa Atlantica served the Chinese market when the COVID -19 pandemic began in early 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The Serena was the only vessel in the company&#8217;s fleet to remain out of service after the other two left. In March, the ship returned to Singapore after spending most of the operational pause in the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>During her drydocking at the Southeast Asia port, the Serena underwent technical maintenance, upkeep and classes as well as preparing to welcome guests back.<\/p>\n<p>As part of Fincantieri&#8217;s Sestri Ponente shipyard in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/departure-ports\/genoa\">Genoa<\/a>, the Costa Serena was originally launched in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>This 112,000-ton ship can accommodate over 3,000 passengers and boasts an array of public areas and facilities, including one of the largest wellness centers at sea, two retractable glass-roofed swimming pools, and four restaurants.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Costa Serena returned to Asia earlier this month, marking the return of the entire Costa Cruises fleet.
