{"id":1712,"date":"2023-06-06T04:54:10","date_gmt":"2023-06-06T04:54:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/news\/?p=1712"},"modified":"2023-08-25T06:39:36","modified_gmt":"2023-08-25T06:39:36","slug":"msc-seaview-turns-five-years-old","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/news\/msc-cruises\/msc-seaview-turns-five-years-old","title":{"rendered":"MSC Seaview Turns Five Years Old"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This month marks the fifth anniversary of the MSC Seaview&#8217;s operation. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/cruise-lines\/msc-cruises\">MSC Cruises<\/a> received the vessel on June 4, 2018, as its 15th ship.<\/p>\n<p>Seaview, built by Fincantieri in Monfalcone, Italy, is a sister ship to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/ships\/msc-seaside\">MSC Seaside<\/a>, which debuted one year earlier.<\/p>\n<p>An onboard ceremony was held by the shipyard and the company to celebrate the delivery.<\/p>\n<p>In a tribute to the maritime tradition, MSC Cruises presented the first master of Seaview with an ampoule containing the first water that touched the vessel&#8217;s hull.<\/p>\n<div class=\"articles-video text-center\"><iframe class=\"hide\" loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HOWjBKm5pOM\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>A short time after leaving the dock where it was built, the MSC Seaview set sail for the opening season of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/destinations\/western-mediterranean\">Western Mediterranean<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>June 7 marked the return of the 4,140-passenger ship to its homeport of Genoa after a commemorative three-night cruise.<\/p>\n<p>The ship was christened two days later by MSC&#8217;s fleet godmother Sophia Loren.<\/p>\n<p>As part of its first commercial voyage, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/ships\/msc-seaview\">MSC Seaview<\/a> sailed from Barcelona to Malta, Spain, France, and Italy on June 10.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the European summer itinerary, Marseille, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/departure-ports\/barcelona\">Barcelona<\/a>, Genoa, Naples, Messina, and Valletta were visited.<\/p>\n<p>Brazilian domestic itineraries were offered by MSC Seaview during its inaugural winter season. As the largest vessel to ever sail from Santos, the 154,000-ton vessel set new records in South America.<\/p>\n<p>During the summer, the ship cruises the Mediterranean and heads to South America for the winter of 2023-24.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This month marks the fifth anniversary of the MSC Seaview&#8217;s operation.
