{"id":2740,"date":"2023-08-29T06:06:12","date_gmt":"2023-08-29T06:06:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/news\/?p=2740"},"modified":"2023-10-12T09:20:01","modified_gmt":"2023-10-12T09:20:01","slug":"miss-universe-celebrates-womens-equality-day-onboard-carnival-vista","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/news\/carnival-cruise-line\/miss-universe-celebrates-womens-equality-day-onboard-carnival-vista","title":{"rendered":"Miss Universe Celebrates Women\u2019s Equality Day Onboard Carnival Vista"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Carnival Cruise Line announced in a press release that R&#8217;Bonney Gabriel celebrated Woman&#8217;s Equality Day on the bridge of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/ships\/carnival-vista\">Carnival Vista<\/a> in Galveston today.<\/p>\n<p>Kiara Arends, Miss Universe Aruba 2022, and Alejandra Guajardo Sada, Miss Universe El Salvador 2022, share the title with her fellow titleholders.<\/p>\n<p>The day was marked with Gabriel speaking with Carnival Vista Captain Claudio Bozzo and female deck and engine officers about women&#8217;s empowerment.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/cruise-lines\/carnival-cruise-lines\">Carnival Cruise Line&#8217;s<\/a> president, Christine Duffy, said the company has been focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion for several years.<\/p>\n<div class=\"articles-video text-center\"><iframe class=\"hide\" loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/asPUmAFVb3c\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Women officers in Deck and Engine have increased significantly, as have women leaders in other departments, according to the company. As a symbol of a sisterhood committed to uplifting each other, R&#8217;Bonney and her fellow titleholders were a great addition to Women&#8217;s Equality Day.<\/p>\n<p>Carnival celebrates and honors Women&#8217;s Equality Day by celebrating the women&#8217;s suffrage movement as well as the challenges women have overcome in their pursuit of equality.<\/p>\n<p>According to the company, Gabriel is the first Filipino-American woman to win Miss Universe and Miss USA, and she focuses much of her platform on embracing one&#8217;s culture. She wants women and young girls to achieve their goals while owning their identities.<\/p>\n<p>According to Gabriel, the Miss Universe Organization encourages women to forge their own futures.<\/p>\n<p>My meeting with the women of Carnival Vista today was gratifying because I was able to see how they break down barriers and achieve success in roles that aren&#8217;t traditionally associated with women,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>As part of Carnival Vista&#8217;s Groove for St. Jude dance party, Gabriel, Arends and Guajardo will participate in a fundraiser for long-term Carnival partner, St. Jude Children&#8217;s Research Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Mahogany Bay, Isla Roatan, Belize City, Belize, and Cozumel, Mexico, the three women will also enjoy shore excursions.<\/p>\n<p>The University of North Texas graduate is an eco-friendly clothing designer who seeks to create more sustainable clothing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Carnival Cruise Line announced in a press release that R&#8217;Bonney Gabriel celebrated Woman&#8217;s Equality Day on the bridge of the Carnival Vista in Galveston today.
