Princess Cruises has upgraded the lighting systems in the 1,000-seat Princess Theater aboard the Crown, Emerald, and Ruby Princess ships<\/a>, as reported by Robe Lighting, the provider of the new systems.<\/p>\n

The company revealed that the Crown Class lighting upgrade included the installation of 69 ESPRITE Profile, 87 Spiider, 78 PAINTE Profile, 98 LEDBeam 150, and 48 ParFect 150 wash luminaires. This modernization has led to a 50 percent reduction in electrical consumption for the Crown Class ships in this area, benefiting the environment by lowering HVAC demand and overall fuel costs. Additionally, the upgrade has significantly decreased operational and maintenance expenses.<\/p>\n

The new lighting system enhances Princess Cruises<\/a>\u2019 in-house entertainment, including major original productions created in collaboration with Stephen Schwartz, an Oscar, Tony, and Grammy award-winning composer.<\/p>\n

The lighting rig upgrade for the Crown, Emerald, and Ruby Princess in 2023 involved a system that has reduced power consumption and maintenance needs, making the rigs more efficient. The system reportedly improved audio quality due to reduced operating noise by 53db.<\/p>\n

According to the company, Matt DeJong, fleet lighting supervisor for the Princess entertainment project team, chose Robe Lighting for its wide range of fixtures and strong global support system.
