After canceling a cruise in late September, the 250,800-ton ship is now at the Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport for some unplanned repairs.<\/p>\n<p>The company explained, \u201cThese repairs are underway, and we are confident that they will be completed in time to resume normal itineraries by our Oct. 5, 2024, sailing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Royal Caribbean further assured guests, \u201cAt this time, our sailing will proceed as planned. As we get closer, we\u2019ll provide you with updates on our progress.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-lg-6 offset-lg-3\">\n<div class=\"articles-video-new\"><iframe class=\"hide\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jqEbM3i8tqk?rel=0&amp;controls=1&amp;showinfo=0&amp;modestbranding=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Icon of the Seas is set to leave Port Miami for a seven-night trip to the Eastern Caribbean and the Bahamas. The itinerary includes stops at their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/cruise-line-private-islands\/cococay-island-royal-caribbean\">private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay<\/a>, along with visits to St. Thomas and St. Maarten.<\/p>\n<p>The ship was pulled from service after having propulsion issues during its September 21, 2024, sailing. At the time, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruisebooking.com\/cruise-lines\/royal-caribbean-international\">Royal Caribbean<\/a> told guests the ship would need to operate at a slower speed, and quick repairs were necessary.<\/p>\n<p>To allow time for those repairs, they canceled the September 28 cruise and sent the Icon to the Grand Bahama Shipyard as soon as passengers were off the ship in Miami.<\/p>\n<p>Guests affected by the cancellation received a full refund and a Future Cruise Credit for the same amount.
