Carnival Cruise Line announced in a press release that R’Bonney Gabriel celebrated Woman’s Equality Day on the bridge of the Carnival Vista in Galveston today.

Kiara Arends, Miss Universe Aruba 2022, and Alejandra Guajardo Sada, Miss Universe El Salvador 2022, share the title with her fellow titleholders.

The day was marked with Gabriel speaking with Carnival Vista Captain Claudio Bozzo and female deck and engine officers about women’s empowerment.

The Carnival Cruise Line’s president, Christine Duffy, said the company has been focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion for several years.

Women officers in Deck and Engine have increased significantly, as have women leaders in other departments, according to the company. As a symbol of a sisterhood committed to uplifting each other, R’Bonney and her fellow titleholders were a great addition to Women’s Equality Day.

Carnival celebrates and honors Women’s Equality Day by celebrating the women’s suffrage movement as well as the challenges women have overcome in their pursuit of equality.

According to the company, Gabriel is the first Filipino-American woman to win Miss Universe and Miss USA, and she focuses much of her platform on embracing one’s culture. She wants women and young girls to achieve their goals while owning their identities.

According to Gabriel, the Miss Universe Organization encourages women to forge their own futures.

My meeting with the women of Carnival Vista today was gratifying because I was able to see how they break down barriers and achieve success in roles that aren’t traditionally associated with women,” she said.

As part of Carnival Vista’s Groove for St. Jude dance party, Gabriel, Arends and Guajardo will participate in a fundraiser for long-term Carnival partner, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

In addition to Mahogany Bay, Isla Roatan, Belize City, Belize, and Cozumel, Mexico, the three women will also enjoy shore excursions.
