Celebrity Cruises has confirmed that it will cancel a scheduled sailing onboard the Celebrity Silhouette in early 2027. The cruise, which was due to depart from Fort Lauderdale on February 13, 2027, has been removed from the schedule because the ship has been booked for a private charter.
Passengers who had already secured their reservations were notified through an official message from the company.
The itinerary was originally set as an eight-night Southern Caribbean cruise. Guests would have enjoyed stops in Willemstad, Curaçao, Oranjestad, Aruba, and Kralendijk, Bonaire, before returning to Port Everglades.
For many, this sailing was seen as an opportunity to enjoy a tropical winter escape with varied island experiences. The cancellation has left some travelers frustrated, though the cruise line has assured guests that alternatives are available.
In its communication, Celebrity Cruises admitted that this was not an ideal situation. The company expressed its apologies and recognized the planning efforts that went into booking the cruise. To soften the impact, Celebrity has created several options for guests whose plans were disrupted.
One option is to rebook on similar eight-night Southern Caribbean sailings taking place onboard the same ship in January 2027. Celebrity has promised to protect the original stateroom category fare or adjust it down if the new sailing is priced lower. Guests who had already paid in full and rebooked at a reduced rate will receive a refund for the difference.
The cruise line is also offering onboard credits as part of its compensation plan. Suite passengers will receive $400 per stateroom, while Aqua Class and below will receive $200 per stateroom. These credits can be used toward extras such as drinks, specialty dining, or spa treatments.
For those who prefer a different option, Celebrity is allowing passengers to move their booking to another cruise ship within the company’s fleet. In these cases, the line will waive non-refundable deposit change fees.
Guests will, however, need to cover any differences in fare, along with taxes, gratuities, and other charges. This option also includes onboard credits ranging from $200 to $400 per stateroom, depending on the booking category.
Finally, travelers who do not wish to reschedule or transfer their booking can cancel for a full refund. This means guests will get back all amounts paid without penalty. By providing this flexibility, Celebrity aims to reduce frustration and maintain trust with its passengers.
Although the sudden cancellation has created disappointment, Celebrity Cruises’ approach offers several paths forward. From rebooking on a near-identical sailing to switching to a different cruise or requesting a refund, guests are being given choices that balance fairness with flexibility.
The company has emphasized its appreciation for customer loyalty and hopes these solutions will ease the inconvenience caused by the change.
