MSC Cruises Updates South America 2026-27 Season with MSC Seaview

MSC Cruises has officially updated its deployment plans for the 2026-27 South America cruise season, bringing exciting changes for travelers looking to explore Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay. The cruise line will now operate five ships across the region, offering short getaways and longer voyages designed to match growing demand in the Brazilian market.

The biggest highlight of the update is the addition of the MSC Seaview, which was originally scheduled to sail in the Caribbean. After the company canceled its 2026-27 Middle East cruise season, the ship was redeployed to South America, strengthening MSC’s presence in the region.

Starting in November 2026, the MSC Seaview will offer seven-night cruises visiting popular destinations in Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay. The ship will sail from Santos, Buenos Aires, and Balneário Camboriú through March 2027, giving travelers more options for longer South American itineraries.

MSC Seaview Takes Over Longer Itineraries

The arrival of the MSC Seaview has also led to adjustments for the MSC Divina. Some itineraries originally planned for the Divina will now be handled by Seaview.

As part of the update, MSC Divina will focus mainly on short three- and four-night cruises departing from Santos. This strategy is expected to attract Brazilian travelers looking for quick cruise vacations during long holiday weekends and national breaks.

According to Ignacio Palacios, sales and revenue manager for MSC in Brazil, shorter itineraries are becoming increasingly popular in the local market.

He explained that Brazil’s 2026 calendar includes several national holidays, making mini-cruises more attractive for guests who want shorter vacations without taking extended time off work.

MSC Musica Receives New Brazilian Coast Itinerary

Another major change involves the MSC Musica. The ship’s original schedule included itineraries to Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay from Santos, but MSC has now adjusted its deployment to focus more heavily on Brazilian coastal cruises.

The MSC Musica will instead sail additional voyages from Paranaguá, Itajaí, and Rio de Janeiro. After completing a major refurbishment, the ship will introduce a brand-new seven-night itinerary centered on destinations along the Brazilian coastline between late December 2026 and late February 2027.

In addition to weeklong cruises, the Musica will also operate shorter sailings from Santos to Rio de Janeiro during November, December, and March.

These updates are designed to increase accessibility for travelers living in southern Brazil and near Rio de Janeiro, where demand for convenient embarkation ports continues to grow.

MSC Virtuosa and MSC Splendida Also Join the Season

Two additional ships will strengthen MSC Cruises’ South American operations during the season: the MSC Virtuosa and the MSC Splendida.

The MSC Virtuosa will make its inaugural season in Brazil, offering seven-night cruises from Santos, Salvador, and Maceió. The ship is expected to become one of the region’s biggest cruise attractions thanks to its modern design, entertainment venues, and family-friendly features.

Meanwhile, the MSC Splendida will return for another winter season in South America. The ship will continue offering longer itineraries visiting Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay, with departures from Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro.

MSC Cruises Assures Support for Affected Guests

Passengers who were originally booked on itineraries now transferred to the MSC Seaview will have their reservations automatically adjusted by the cruise line.
