Norwegian Cruise Line has canceled more than 40 sailings scheduled for the 2026-27 season on two of its ships: the Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Prima. This comes in wake of their fleet redeployment strategy. The statement announcing the cancellation was sent to travel agents.
The affected cruises were set to operate between November 2026 and March 2027. All Norwegian Breakaway sailings from November 8, 2026, to March 28, 2027, and Norwegian Prima sailings from November 15, 2026, to March 28, 2027, have been canceled.
Guests who booked these cruises will receive a full refund of their cruise fare, automatically returned to the original payment method used at booking. Additionally, Norwegian is offering a 10 percent Future Cruise Credit (FCC) discount for future bookings as a compensation for the inconvenience caused.
The Norwegian Breakaway was slated to sail seven-night Southern Caribbean cruises from San Juan. This would have marked its debut from that port, with visits to destinations like Aruba, Curaçao, Barbados, St. Thomas, and Tortola. While, the Norwegian Prima was scheduled for weeklong Western Caribbean cruises from New Orleans. This would have been its first season from the port, featuring stops in Cozumel, Costa Maya, Roatán, and Norwegian’s private destination, Harvest Caye, in Belize.
Norwegian will announce replacement deployments for both ships at a later date. The company’s 2026-27 season, originally unveiled in late 2024, includes over 40 sailings across 11 regions, such as the Caribbean, Asia, and the Mexican Riviera.
