Princess Cruises Reveals New Dining Experiences Aboard Sun Princess

By Cruise Booking Team

Before the maiden voyage of the Sun Princess on February 28, Princess Cruises has introduced new dining experiences on board, including an Afternoon Tea with Royal Chef and wine tasting sessions, as per a recent press release.
John Padgett, the president of Princess Cruises had this to say, “With its unrivaled blend of creativity, quality, choice, and expertise, Sun Princess will set a new standard for food and beverage excellence. Food and drink excellence is synonymous with experience excellence aboard Princess ships.”
The ship will feature “Spellbound by Magic Castle,” a unique dining and entertainment experience that combines magic performances with dinner and drinks. Originating from the success of the “360: An Extraordinary Experience,” this event offers a magical evening starting with a communal dinner in the Horizons Dining Room, followed by magic shows at the Spellbound Bar. There are three sessions available nightly at 5 pm, 7 pm, and 9 pm, requiring advance reservations and a fee of $149 per person.
Additionally, guests can enjoy Kai Sushi by Makoto Okuwa, where the sushi master will serve Edomae-style sushi, honoring Japanese culinary traditions, for a cover charge of $39 per person.
The ship also offers a Royal Afternoon Tea curated by Chef Darren McGrady, former personal chef to British royals, featuring a selection of teas and held in the Good Spirits at Sea Lounge on certain days. This experience is available for $30 per person with prior reservation recommended.
Wine enthusiasts can participate in a special tasting hosted by French winemaker Gérard Bertrand in the Good Spirits at Sea Lounge, with a reservation cost of $40 per person.
Furthermore, the Horizons Dining Room will showcase menus developed in collaboration with the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) during the ship’s initial Mediterranean journey. Supervised by Rudi Sodamin, head of Culinary Arts and a Master Chef, a team of CIA master chefs will train the ship’s 252-member galley team to deliver exceptional dinner offerings.
