Disabled Facilities
Disabled facilities are available onboard all Holland America cruises. However, guests must inform the cruise line in advance and submit the necessary documents during booking. Guests traveling with service animals must define them as well-trained to assist with specific tasks. Emotional support, therapy, or companion animals do not qualify as service animals and are not permitted onboard.
Special Dietary Requirements
Holland America takes special dietary needs seriously. Guests with severe food allergies or life-threatening intolerances should notify the ship service department at the time of booking or before sailing. The cruise line also accommodates specific dietary preferences such as gourmet, kosher, and other special diets.
Age Restrictions
Holland America enforces strict age restrictions for minors. Parents or guardians must accompany children and teens in certain areas, including casinos, poolside venues, bars and lounges, and while going ashore. This ensures safety and compliance with liability regulations.
Dress Code
Evenings onboard Holland America cruises are a mix of casual and formal. Casual nights allow for smart evening wear, while formal nights—typically two per week—require elegant attire. Women may wear cocktail dresses, gowns, or dressy blouses with slacks. Men are encouraged to wear tuxedos, jackets with ties, or dark suits.
Drinks Package
A variety of drinks packages are available onboard for an additional fee. The Cellar Master Package includes a wine navigator’s choice of five bottles, standard and premium wine tastings, a wine-themed gift set, dinner at Pinnacle Grill, and a special Holland America commemorative bottle of wine.
Smoking & E-Cigarettes
Smoking and the use of e-cigarettes are allowed only in designated outdoor areas, such as cabana clubs. E-cigarettes are permitted inside staterooms but not in public areas unless specifically designated for smoking.
