Carnival Venezia Cabins to Avoid

Check Carnival Venezia cabin views, Ocean Suite locations, Terrazza age rules and nearby venues, then choose a room that fits your routine.

By CruiseBooking.com Editorial Team

Which cabins should you avoid on Carnival Venezia? Steer clear of the Deck 9 staterooms directly beneath the Deck 10 Lido (the covered Lido Pool, the Lido Marketplace buffet and the aft Burano Pool & Bar), the Deck 12 cabins wedged between the Fitness Center, Cloud 9 Spa and Carnival WaterWorks, the Deck 14 Ocean Suites beneath the Serenity adult retreat, the forward-facing “walkway view” interiors on Decks 7, 9, 10, 11 and 14, and the six staterooms Carnival itself marks as obstructed: Ocean Suites 9205 and 9206, and Deluxe Ocean Views 1460, 1473, 2452 and 2475. Light sleepers should also skip the Deck 6 cabins above Teatro Rosso and the Deck 5 bars, and the Deck 3 cabins behind the teen clubs. Terrazza Cabanas on Deck 5 and the cove balconies on Deck 2 suit a particular kind of cruiser rather than everyone. Every location below was read from Carnival’s official deck plan, with decks aligned by their elevator cores.

How Carnival Venezia is laid out

In 2023, Carnival Venezia became the first vessel in Carnival Cruise Line's "Fun Italian Style" fleet. Earlier, it sailed under the banner of Costa, having previously operated as Costa Venezia, starting in 2019. Built on a Vista-class platform, it shares its design with Carnival Vista, Horizon, and Panorama. The vital of this ship is telling: measuring 135,225 gross tons and 1,061 feet in length, accommodating 4,090 passengers at double occupancy across 14 guest decks labeled 1 through 15 (Deck 13 is omitted). Because the loudest areas follow a consistent layout pattern, the deck you choose has a greater impact than the fare category you purchase.

  • Decks 1 to 3: cabins low in the hull. Deck 3 also holds the teen clubs, Guest Services, the Piazza San Marco atrium and both main restaurants.
  • Decks 4 and 5: Teatro Rosso fills the bow on both levels. Deck 5 is the promenade of shops, bars and restaurants, with the Terrazza block at the stern.
  • Decks 6 to 9: almost entirely cabins.
  • Deck 10: the Lido. A forward cabin block, then the bars, the Lido Pool under a retractable roof, Guy’s Burger Joint, Lido Marketplace and the aft Burano Pool & Bar.
  • Deck 11: cabins forward, then the Carnival Seaside Theatre screen, Pergola Bar, Camp Ocean and the Sports Court.
  • Deck 12: Fitness Center and Cloud 9 Spa forward, a short run of cabins, then Carnival WaterWorks, the jogging track and the arcade.
  • Deck 14: Ocean Suites forward, ropes course aft. Deck 15: Serenity Adult-Only Retreat.

Deck 9: the cabins under the Lido Deck

This is the biggest group to avoid. Deck 9 is the last cabin deck before the Lido, and everything aft of its forward elevator lobby sits under public space. Lining the two decks up on Carnival’s plan gives four zones:

  • Under Rococó Bar, JavaBlue Café and the Lido Pool: roughly 9316–9356 (port) and 9303–9353 (starboard), plus the interiors between them (about 9320–9358 and 9309–9355). The pool sits under a retractable roof, so on cool days it becomes an enclosed room with music and deck games.
  • Under Tomodoro and Guy’s Burger Joint: roughly 9357–9368, with kitchen traffic from early morning.
  • Under Lido Marketplace and its seating: roughly 9382–9452 (port) and 9381–9467 (starboard), plus the interiors. The buffet is reset early and cleaned late, and chair legs and trolleys carry straight through the deckhead.
  • Under Pizzeria del Capitano, Seafood Shack and Burano Pool & Bar: roughly 9454–9486 (port), 9469–9505 (starboard) and the aft-facing row 9488–9515. That row is sold as Terrazza Aft-View Extended Balcony (9490–9515) and Terrazza Premium Vista Balcony (corners 9488 and 9507): premium fares and superb wake views, with a pool, two whirlpools and a bar directly above.

Carnival regulars are blunt about this arrangement. Guests on other Carnival ships with the same Deck 9 and Deck 10 stack, quoted by AOL from a Reddit thread, describe lounge chairs dragged overhead at 11 pm and daytime noise from children, furniture and music, and recommend booking two or three decks below the Lido. Only the forward Deck 9 block (9201–9276) has cabins above it.

Deck 12: spa, fitness and WaterWorks neighbours

With fewer than forty staterooms, Deck 12 offers no cabin with the luxury of a peaceful neighbor. Toward the bow, cabins 12202 through 12211 sit right against the Fitness Center and Cloud 9 Spa, where the treadmills are already humming before seven in the morning. At the stern, the 12228–12239 block dead-ends into the wall of Carnival WaterWorks, and on sea days its slides, splash area and drench bucket keep going from morning to night. Nor does the address come with any perks: since Carnival assigns no spa stateroom category aboard Venezia, a Deck 12 reservation unlike the Cloud 9 Spa rooms on Carnival Vista or Horizon includes no thermal-suite privileges.

Deck 11 forward: the Seaside Theatre and the gym above

Stretching along Deck 11, cabins numbered 11201 through 11288 finish their run at the Carnival Seaside Theatre, where an outdoor screen looks out over the Lido Pool. Cabins 11279–11288 stand nearest the speakers, since Dive-In Movies and deck parties keep going well into the night. Over on the opposite side, the Deck 12 Fitness Center is positioned roughly above cabins 11221–11250. Tucked in the middle, cabins around 11252–11278 are surrounded by staterooms both above and below, making them Deck 11's finest.

Deck 14: Ocean Suites beneath Serenity

Venezia’s top category, the Ocean Suites at 14205–14249, sits directly under Serenity on Deck 15. Serenity is adults-only and far calmer than the Lido, but the deck crew resets its loungers early, and its bar and two whirlpools sit over roughly 14222–14233. The suites, reported at 327 to 356 square feet, carry the same perks wherever they sit. The only other Ocean Suites are 9205 and 9206, which Carnival flags as obstructed, so a Venezia suite means choosing between Serenity overhead or a compromised view. Take a mid-block Deck 14 number away from the whirlpools, or consider a Terrazza Premium Vista corner on Decks 6 to 9.

The forward-facing “walkway view” interiors

Carnival's 'Interior with Picture Window (Walkway View)' Staterooms offer a window on the forward observation deck, though the view is partially obstructed, according to Carnival's own description. On the deck plan these are the forward facing rows 7201-7208, 9201-9203, 10201-10205, 11201-11204 and 14201-14204. Since anyone walking by on the outside can see in, the curtains are best left drawn when you're inside, and the bow of the ship is far more prone to motion and wind noise than elsewhere onboard. They are also more expensive than a standard interior, for a view that is rarely of use on a private stateroom.

The six officially obstructed cabins

Carnival’s deck-plan legend names six staterooms with obstructed views: Ocean Suites 9205 and 9206 at the forward corners of Deck 9, tucked under the Deck 10 overhang; Deluxe Ocean Views 1460 and 1473 at the aft end of Deck 1’s cabin run; and Deluxe Ocean Views 2452 and 2475, the last cabins before the stern stairwells on Deck 2. These are honest disclosures, worth booking at a discount but not at the same fare as an unflagged cabin of the same type.

Deck 6: above the theater and the Deck 5 nightlife

Deck 6 is the first cabin level up from the promenade that never sleeps. Cabins 6207-6270 are located above the upper level of Teatro Rosso. Further aft, this deck spans Bonsai Teppanyaki and Fahrenheit 555 (approximately 6306-6352 port), Piano Bar 88 (approximately 6311-6323 starboard), Amari (around 6350-6361), Frizzante (approximately 6375-6389), Il Viaggio (approximately 6382-6400 port) and La Strada Grill and Pixels (approximately 6395-6421 starboard). Further back is the Gondola Lounge (approximately 6423-6458) and within the Terrazza block is the Carnevale Bar & Lounge (6460-6502), with the aft most row of cabins 6501-6512 above Terrazza Carnevale whirlpool terrace. Piano bars cease operations after midnight while restaurants are already open before dawn. Gene Sloan of The Points Guy dubs the Cabins above the Carnival entertainment decks as the "Bermuda Triangle of Bad Cabins", as the piano bar noise echoes up the stair wells.

Deck 3 forward: teen clubs, the theater stage and the atrium

Deck 3 has a single block of ocean-view cabins, 3201–3229, and it is boxed in. The forward-most cabins, 3201–3212, sit directly behind Circle “C” and Club O2, the clubs for 12-to-14 and 15-to-17-year-olds, which run into the late evening. The whole block lies beneath the stage end of Teatro Rosso on Deck 4. At the aft end, 3222–3229 back onto Guest Services, Carnival Adventures and the Piazza San Marco atrium, where live music plays most nights. Heavy sleepers will be fine; everyone else will find quieter ocean views on Decks 1 and 2 mid-ship.

Terrazza Cabanas: privacy is the price

The Terrazza block at the stern of Deck 5 (5201–5242) is Venezia’s answer to the Havana area on other Vista-class ships: exclusive access to the Terrazza Carnevale terrace and its whirlpools, and breakfast in the Carnevale Lounge. The Cabana staterooms open onto the Lanai promenade through a private patio with deck chairs and a hammock on request. That patio faces a public walkway and sits a few feet from the neighbours’ patios. Cruise Critic forum members have flagged that lack of privacy, and one cabana guest writing on Substack said she would not book the category again. The Terrazza Interiors in the same block (5208 to 5236) back onto the Carnevale Bar & Lounge, and Carnival requires every Terrazza guest to be 12 or older, so families with younger children cannot book here at all.

The low decks: thrusters, the galley and cove balconies

Decks 1 and 2 are the most stable decks on the ship and excellent value, with three exceptions. The forward-most cabins, roughly 1202–1234 and 1217–1233 on Deck 1 and 2201–2224 on Deck 2, sit closest to the bow thrusters and anchor gear, which run during early-morning arrivals. At the stern, Deck 2’s aft cabins (2412–2497) lie beneath the Canal Grande Restaurant and its galley on Deck 3, and the aft-facing row 2474–2497 is the lowest and closest to the propellers on the ship. In between, cabins 2278–2297 sit under the Piazza San Marco atrium and its evening music.

Deck 2 is also where the Cove Balconies (category 7C, roughly 2250–2410 port and 2255–2433 starboard) live. A cove balcony is cut into the hull just above the waterline, which gives a wonderful sense of the sea but also means spray in any swell and the chance of the balcony being closed in rough weather. Cruise Critic’s editors advise anyone nervous about the sea being that close to skip Deck 2 balconies. A good buy for the right guest, not a cabin to avoid for everyone.

Where to book instead

The quietest cabins on Carnival Venezia have cabins above and below, sit away from an elevator lobby and have no connecting door.

  • Decks 7 and 8 mid-ship, between the elevator lobbies. Both have staterooms above and below, and Deck 8 forward begins directly behind the bridge, so 8201–8212 have no venue near them.
  • Deck 10 forward (10207–10254). Cabins sit above and below, and a Cruise Critic member who booked two interiors here reported no noise and a short walk to the pool. Skip 10289–10298 beside the Rococó Bar and JavaBlue Café doors.
  • Deck 1 mid-ship (roughly 1258–1418) for anyone prone to motion sickness: Deck 2 cabins above, low and central.
  • Aft-facing Terrazza cabins on Decks 7 and 8 (7494–7501 and 8484–8491) rather than Deck 9, under the Burano pool, or Deck 6, above the Terrazza terrace.

What Carnival Venezia costs right now

Lead-in fares change daily, but the sample below, listed on CruiseBooking.com on September 24, 2026 for the Port Canaveral winter season, shows the range. Carnival separates its eight standard balcony codes (8A to 8H) by position rather than size, so compare the Deck 7 and Deck 8 versions against any Deck 9 cabin you are offered.

Where Carnival Venezia sails

Carnival Venezia finishes its last scheduled New York season from the Manhattan Cruise Terminal in early October 2026. From October 2026 to May 2027 it sails seven- to 14-night Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral, and from late May 2027 it moves to Miami year-round for 6- day and 8-day Caribbean cruises itineraries, with Carnival Firenze taking over New York from May 27, 2027. The deck plan, and the cabins to avoid, stay the same from every homeport.

FAQs

Which deck is the Lido Deck on Carnival Venezia?

Deck 10. It holds the Lido Pool under a retractable roof, Lido Marketplace, Guy’s Burger Joint, Tomodoro, Pizzeria del Capitano, Seafood Shack and the aft Burano Pool & Bar. The Deck 9 cabins beneath it are the noisiest on the ship.

Does Carnival Venezia have spa cabins?

No. Cloud 9 Spa and the Fitness Center are on Deck 12 beside a short run of standard cabins (12202–12239), but Carnival lists no spa stateroom category for Venezia, so a Deck 12 cabin brings gym and WaterWorks noise without any thermal-suite perks.

Which Carnival Venezia cabins have obstructed views?

Carnival flags six: Ocean Suites 9205 and 9206, and Deluxe Ocean Views 1460, 1473, 2452 and 2475. The forward-facing “walkway view” interiors (7201–7208, 9201–9203, 10201–10205, 11201–11204 and 14201–14204) are also described by Carnival as partially obstructed, because the window faces an observation deck.

Are the aft cabins on Carnival Venezia noisy?

It depends on the deck. Deck 9’s aft row sits under Burano Pool & Bar, and Deck 6’s aft row sits above the Terrazza Carnevale whirlpool terrace. The aft rows on Decks 7 and 8 have cabins above and below them and are the calmer choice for a wake view.

Can children stay in Terrazza staterooms on Carnival Venezia?

No. Carnival requires every guest in a Terrazza stateroom, including the Cabanas, Interiors and the aft-view and Premium Vista balconies, to be 12 or older. Families with younger children should look at standard balconies on Decks 7 and 8, or the Deck 10 forward block, instead.
