Celestyal Cancels Additional Eastern Mediterranean Sailings

By Cruise Booking Team

Celestyal Cruises has announced further cancellations affecting its ship Celestyal Discovery, as ongoing tensions related to the Middle East conflict continue to impact cruise operations.

The company confirmed that the March 27 and March 30, 2026, departures will no longer proceed, adding to earlier cancellations this month. These changes are part of broader operational adjustments as the cruise line prioritizes safety and itinerary planning.

Affected Itineraries and Destinations

The cancelled cruises were short 3 and 4-night sailings departing from Piraeus, a major hub for Mediterranean cruises. These itineraries were set to include popular cruise destinations such as Mykonos, Santorini, Rhodes, and Kusadasi.

Known for their scenic beauty and cultural attractions, these ports are key highlights for travelers exploring Greece and Turkey. If you’re planning similar trips, you can explore related options like Eastern Mediterranean cruises or Greek island cruise itineraries for alternative travel plans.

Earlier Disruptions and Operational Changes

This latest update follows earlier cancellations of the March 20 and March 23 sailings aboard the same vessel. According to Celestyal, these decisions are linked to delays in repositioning the ship to the Mediterranean ahead of the summer season.

The company stated that it is working closely with relevant authorities while monitoring the situation to ensure passenger safety and smooth future operations.

Guest Compensation and Flexible Options

Guests affected by these cancellations will be offered flexible solutions, including full refunds or future cruise credits. This allows travelers to rebook alternative sailings without financial loss.

For travelers seeking updated options, checking last-minute cruise deals or Mediterranean cruise offers can help find suitable replacements.

Status of Fleet and Middle East Operations

Celestyal also confirmed that passengers from both the Celestyal Journey and the Celestyal Discovery have safely disembarked.

The ships were operating in the Middle East during the winter season, with departures from Dubai and Doha. Both vessels remain fully operational and are expected to leave the region in line with official guidance.

Outlook for Future Sailings

The company previously suspended its Arabian Gulf operations in late February and later cancelled the remainder of its regional season in early March.

While uncertainties remain, Celestyal continues to monitor developments closely and aims to resume its planned cruise schedule as soon as conditions improve. Travelers are advised to stay updated and consider flexible booking options when planning upcoming cruises.
