Azamara Unveils 85 New Cruises for 2028-29 Season

By CruiseBooking.com Editorial Team

Azamara Cruises has released 85 new cruises for its 2028-29 season, with sailings running from October 29, 2028, through May 19, 2029.

The program spans 81 countries and includes 210 ports of call, 94 overnight stays and more than 200 late-night departures. Guests can look forward to the Mediterranean, the coastlines of Australia and New Zealand, and Japan during cherry blossom season, with all four ships (Azamara Onward, Journey, Pursuit and Quest) taking part.

“These newly announced cruises reflect what makes Azamara so special, allowing guests to go beyond the expected and experience destinations in a more meaningful way,” said Mike Pawlus, Azamara’s head of itinerary planning. “We’re especially excited to offer guests more opportunities to explore Africa and the Indian Ocean, Australia, New Zealand and Japan, with itineraries featuring destinations such as Western Australia and the Kimberley Coast. From rare port calls to extended stays that allow travelers to connect with local culture, these itineraries are designed to make every destination an integral part of the journey.”

Africa and the Indian Ocean

After several years away from the region, the Azamara Onward will return to Africa and the Indian Ocean, visiting 27 countries. Among the stops is Jamestown on Saint Helena, scheduled for December 12, 2028, giving guests a chance to see one of the most remote island destinations in the world. Other highlights include the Vanilla Islands, with calls in the Seychelles, Mauritius, Réunion and Madagascar.

A New Season in the Mediterranean

The Azamara Journey will visit 16 countries and 65 ports across the Mediterranean, Iberia and the Canary Islands. Some itineraries include three consecutive days in Alexandria, Egypt, with opportunities to travel to Cairo and Luxor. Other standout moments include an overnight in Marseille over Christmas Eve and another in Çanakkale, Turkey.

Australia, New Zealand and Japan

The Azamara Pursuit will sail an extensive Asia-Pacific season. Highlights include a voyage along Western Australia’s remote Kimberley Coast and a Sydney-to-Singapore sailing with several Great Barrier Reef gateway stops. From late March through May 2029, five back-to-back Japan Intensive sailings will give guests the chance to see cherry blossoms across multiple ports.

Mediterranean to the Caribbean

Ahead of its 195-day 2029 World Cruise, the Azamara Quest will offer a series of Mediterranean, Transatlantic and Caribbean sailings from October 29, 2028, through January 1, 2029. The season wraps up with a Panama Canal holiday and New Year’s cruise.

Guests booking the new itineraries can take advantage of Azamara’s 30 percent Early Booking Bonus, which applies to all stateroom categories.
