Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, Disney Adventure, has reached another major milestone as it arrived at the Port of Los Angeles on February 9. The visit came during a nearly two-month journey from Germany to Singapore, as confirmed in a company press release. This stop marks a significant milestone as the ship moves closer to its official launch in Asia.
Built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, the Disney Adventure is scheduled to begin its maiden voyage from Singapore on March 10, 2026. Once it enters service, the ship will become the first Disney Cruise Line vessel to homeport in Asia, showing the brand’s growing focus on international markets.
Disney Cruise Line described the launch of the Disney Adventure as part of its wider global growth plans. By placing a ship in Singapore, the cruise line is opening its experiences to a new audience across Asia.
Joe Schott, president of Disney Signature Experiences, said the ship brings Disney’s storytelling to new regions. He also shared that the Los Angeles port call marked another milestone on the journey toward the ship’s debut in Singapore. The stop allowed teams to prepare the vessel for the final stretch of its voyage while highlighting Disney Cruise Line’s expanding footprint.
Before arriving in Los Angeles, the Disney Adventure made a notable stop at Port Canaveral, Florida, which is Disney Cruise Line’s largest U.S. homeport. During this leg of the journey, the ship achieved a record by becoming the largest passenger vessel to ever transit the Panama Canal, according to the company.
After leaving Los Angeles, the Disney Adventure will continue its journey with a brief stop in Tokyo before finally arriving in Singapore. Each stop highlights the ship’s global route and the scale of Disney Cruise Line’s plans for the vessel.
The Disney Adventure is the eighth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. It draws inspiration from over 100 years of Disney storytelling, featuring themes and characters from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel.
The ship has been designed as a floating family vacation destination, offering immersive entertainment, themed spaces, and multi-day itineraries. Disney Cruise Line aims to deliver the same storytelling experience at sea that guests associate with its parks and films, now tailored for a broader international audience.
The debut of the Disney Adventure coincides with a period of significant growth for Disney Cruise Line. The company has confirmed plans to introduce another new ship in 2027, which will join newer vessels like Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny.
Looking further ahead, Disney has also announced a partnership with Oriental Land Co. that is expected to bring Disney cruise vacations to Japan in 2029. This moves signals even stronger expansion in the Asia-Pacific region.
With the Disney Adventure preparing for its Singapore launch, Disney Cruise Line is entering a new chapter. The ship’s arrival in Los Angeles, record-setting Panama Canal transit, and upcoming Asia debut highlights how quickly the brand is growing beyond North America.
For families in Asia and beyond, the Disney Adventure is set to offer a new way to experience Disney magic at sea when it begins sailing in 2026.
