The Carnival Horizon flew to Port Miami for a special tribute to veterans as part of Carnival Cruise Line’s Veterans Day celebration.
During a presentation to the Miami Veterans Affairs Healthcare System, the cruise line’s president Christine Duffy presented a van capable of transporting 15 passengers.
Due to Carnival’s position as America’s cruise line, more active and retired military service members are choosing Carnival for their much-deserved cruise vacations than any other cruise line. In order to show our appreciation for these brave men and women, we have donated a passenger van to the Miami Veterans Affairs Healthcare System so that they can provide convenient transportation to local resources and support services for our military heroes.”
Throughout six Carnival homeport cities, Carnival is honoring veterans and active-duty soldiers as part of a week-long tribute in partnership with local Veterans Affairs (VA) offices.
Kalautie JangDhari, Executive Director of Miami Veterans Affairs Healthcare System, said, “Our mission is to make the lives of veterans and their families better every day.” Carnival Cruise Line hosted a very special event for our veterans, and their generosity of donating a passenger van will make it easier for them to attend their medical appointments.”
