South America debut for Costa Firenze

By Cruise Booking Team

A successful first season in South America was completed on April 16 by the Costa Firenze after nearly five months in the region.

During its maiden Brazilian season in 2024, Costa Cruises offered a series of domestic cruises for Carnival Cruise Line.

Along with three days at sea, the ship’s regular seven-night itinerary included visiting Ilhéus and stopping in Santos, Rio de Janeiro, and Salvador.

In preparation for a farewell season in Northern Europe, Costa Firenze now offers transatlantic sailings.

On May 5, Costa’s leading homeport in Italy, Savona, hosts a 19-night repositioning voyage sailing from Santos.

In Brazil, there are ports of call in Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Fortaleza, Spain, and France in Tenerife, Málaga, and Barcelona.

During the summer of 2023, Costa Firenze will offer seven-night cruises to Norway and Denmark following a one-way voyage to Germany.

Visits to Geiranger, Stavanger, Haugesund, Copenhagen, and more are included in the program, which departs from Kiel in Germany.

Early in 2024, the Costa Firenze will say goodbye to Costa Cruises after additional Mediterranean and Atlantic cruises.

A Carnival Fun Italian Style concept ship will then be added to Carnival Cruise Line’s fleet. Carnival Venezia joins the Carnival Venezia in May after undergoing drydocking in Europe.

During its maiden season, the Carnival Firenze will operate a year-round program of Mexican Riviera and Baja California cruises from Long Beach.

Several popular destinations in the region are included on the itinerary, including Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, and Mazatlán, among others.

Its public areas and staterooms are inspired by the Italian city of Florence, built initially for the Chinese market.

It is equipped with a complete water park, a set of specialty restaurants, and a larger-than-average casino, among other features.
