HX Expeditions has announced that its Antarctica season from October 2025 to March 2026 has become the most successful in the company’s history. According to the official press release, the season stood out not only for strong booking numbers but also for its commitment to responsible tourism and scientific contribution. This milestone highlights the growing demand for expedition cruises and the company’s leadership in sustainable polar travel.
The company completed 34 sailings to Antarctica during the season, marking a 5% global increase in bookings compared to 2025. In some regions, demand surged by as much as 80%, showing a rising interest in immersive expedition experiences. Guests reported high satisfaction levels, driven by enhanced onboard experiences, expert-led excursions, and improved logistics.
HX Expeditions also expanded its activity offerings, allowing more travelers to participate in adventure experiences. Kayaking capacity increased by an impressive 188%, while camping opportunities were doubled, giving guests a more hands-on and special way to explore Antarctica.
A key highlight of the season was the HX Expeditions’ strong focus on sustainability and research. The company donated 1,801 guest scientist cruise nights to support global scientific initiatives. This effort allowed researchers to conduct valuable studies in one of the world’s most fragile ecosystems.
Additionally, guests contributed €124,882 to the HX Foundation, supporting environmental conservation, plastic pollution reduction, and community projects worldwide. This reinforces the brand’s commitment to responsible travel and protecting Antarctica for future generations.
To further improve the guest journey, HX introduced several operational upgrades for the 2025–2026 season. These included later departures from Buenos Aires, upgraded charter flights using JetSMART’s A321 aircraft, and more convenient return schedules to Ushuaia. These changes helped create a smoother and more comfortable travel experience for passengers.
The success of HX Expeditions reflects a broader trend in the cruise industry, where travelers are increasingly seeking unique, meaningful, and eco-conscious travel experiences. Antarctica cruises offer a rare opportunity to explore untouched landscapes while contributing to conservation and research efforts.
