In November 2023, Princess Cruises will offer an exclusive themed cruise hosted by Adam Savage, host of Discovery Channel’s show MythBusters and godparent to Discovery Princess.

Leaving from the Port of Los Angeles, the Discovery Princess will travel to San Diego and Ensenada over the course of four days. Savage will guide guests through activities and offer them a behind-the-scenes look at the Discovery Princess during the voyage. Additionally, Savage is launching a video series on the Sun Princess, the cruise line’s newest ship, which is scheduled to debut in 2024.

In 2022, when I was asked which part of Discovery Princess I wanted to see, I chose the engine room, where I spent five hours learning about the complex systems that allow thousands of customers’ needs to be serviced efficiently and almost invisibly. “There is no comparison to the scale of it,” said Savage. The engineering of these ships, including Sun Princess, fascinates me. I look forward to meeting fellow passengers and sharing all the exciting below-deck technology I have learned about in science and engineering and on cruise ships in particular while on an Alaska cruise on Discovery Princess myself. I also love trivia – it will be a blast.”
