With today’s arrival in Italy, Enchantment of the Seas has begun its European tour in 2023. It will offer seven-night Mediterranean cruises this summer, returning to the region after over 20 years.
Through the beginning of November, the ship will depart from several regional homeports, including Barcelona in Spain, Civitavecchia, the getaway port for Rome, Italy, and Piraeus, in Greece.
Visiting both Western and Eastern Mediterranean destinations, Enchantment’s itineraries also include Greece, Italy, Turkey, Croatia, Montenegro, Slovenia, France, and Spain.
On its first trip to the region, a one-way cruise is planned for the ship, which includes the Greek Islands, Turkey, and Italy.
In addition to Mykonos and Santorini, Kusadasi, Salerno, and Messina are included on the seven-night itinerary departing from Civitavecchia to Piraeus. This program also includes visits to Villefranche, Cannes, Livorno, Ravenna, Syracuse, Genoa, Kotor, and Zakynthos.
As soon as the Enchantment completes its extended summer program in Europe, it will start a transatlantic crossing on November 13. In preparation for the winter season, the 81,000-ton ship is taking a 14-night repositioning cruise from Barcelona to Tampa.
A maiden Mediterranean season was offered in 1997 by the Enchantment of the Seas, which was built in Finland by Kvaerner Masa Yards. Originally part of Royal Caribbean International’s Vision Class, the ship was extended by 22 meters in 2005, doubling its size.
Additionally, the new 2,939-ton midsection increased the vessel’s capacity to 2,250 guests and added features like the Boleros Lounge and bungee trampolines.
The Enchantment of the Seas also offers three pools, six whirlpools, and Royal Caribbean’s Chops Grille steakhouse.
