MS Midnatsol Cruise Ship Deck Plans
Discover the MS Midnatsol Deck by Deck
Hurtigruten's hybrid expedition vessel, MS Midnatsol, is especially designed to explore the fjords, the Arctic, and Antarctica year-round. This vessel has an emphasis on sustainability, small-ship intimacy (maximum of 532 passengers), and immersing guests in the natural surroundings. Each of the decks onboard has a different combination of comfort level, areas for viewing the scenery, and adventure areas. The following list outlines all the things available to experience and enjoy on each deck of the MS Midnatsol.
Deck 4 - Where Guests enter the Ship
Reception and shore excursion desks are located here so this deck is the primary location to check in, get information about the ship, and plan your day each day. The majority of the available cabins on the ship are located here (mostly inside and ocean view). The ship's main lounge is also located here for daily presentations and lectures, as well as nightly activities. This deck is ideal for passengers that want convenient access to guest services.
Deck 5 – Restaurant, Science Center, and Lounge
Deck 5 has dining opportunities (either informal cafés, or upscale restaurants); the science centre, where the expedition team gives presentations and lectures about the places you will visit; and a lounge area for viewing scenery and relaxing in comfortable chairs. Additionally, this level will have some cabins too. Therefore, Deck 5 is a very good place to make new friends and learn about exciting new subjects.
Deck 6 - Cabins and Observation Lounge
There are many cabin options including inside ("no window") cabins, ocean-view ("with window") cabins and balconies. Also, on Level 6, you will find the ship's promenade deck which has large panoramic views through its outdoor walkthroughs. This lounge also serves as a place where passengers can take lectures, watch for whales and relax with a book while enjoying the scenery. And some restaurants for a quick snack.
Decks 7 - Cabins and Outdoor Spaces
Deck 8 has a combination of balcony and suite-type cabins with direct access to outdoor viewing and walking paths for passengers to get spectacular views and not have anything in the way of seeing nature. Passengers who want to feel and connect to nature while enjoying time on their private balcony can use Deck 7 for this purpose.
Deck 8 – Restaurant and Outdoor Areas
The restaurant areas on this level include food-service areas with excellent panoramic views and outside deck areas for fresh-air enjoyment or wildlife observation. The library provides an excellent opportunity to read a book or simply enjoy a few quiet moments of solitude and serenity. The combination of food and scenery at this level makes it very popular with cruise visitors during the coastal cruise experience.
Deck 9 – Observation Deck
Deck 9 is the main observation level as well as premium, uninterrupted views through massive floor to ceiling windows. From the outside observation area there is ample opportunity to observe wildlife, take photographs, or to simply enjoy watching the midnat(midnight) sun set at night or witness the beauty of the Northern Lights. This outside area affords guests the best views as well as tranquil luxury.
Each deck on the MS Midnatsol is thoughtfully designed to balance comfort, exploration, and sustainability. Whether you're relaxing in a suite, learning in the Science Center, or standing on deck watching icebergs drift by, the ship offers a seamless blend of adventure and luxury in some of the world's most remote and beautiful destinations.
