Explore Exceptional Destinations with Carnival Cruises

Carnival Cruises is one of the world's largest cruise brands that offer relatively short, affordable cruises from U.S. ports. You'll find at least one of its cruise ships sailing out of almost every major port city around the country, but rare to see them based anywhere else.

Carnival Cruise Line offers the most comprehensive range of cruises from U.S. ports to the Caribbean and Bahamas. Some Carnival East Coast ships sail to Bermuda, New England, and Canada. West coast Carnival ships usually sail to Mexico, Hawaii, or Alaska. Moreover, it also offers some Panama Canal voyages.

Trending Carnival Cruise Destinations

Port Miami and Port Canaveral are Carnival's most important cruise ports, Galveston, Texas, Long Beach, California, and New Orleans. In addition to Baltimore, Charleston, South Carolina, Mobile, Alabama, and Jacksonville, Florida, you may also find Carnival ships in secondary ports. It is relatively uncommon for Carnival ships to sail longer voyages than three to eight nights. Carnival's five best sailing destinations are listed below.

1. The Caribbean and Bahamas

Of 26 ships, 21 Carnival cruise ships are scheduled to visit the Caribbean and Bahamas, including the 5,282-passenger Mardi Gras, its newest and largest ship. There are 12 U.S. ports from which Carnival offers Caribbean and Bahamas cruises.

2. The Mexican Riviera

Cruise lines such as Carnival Cruise Line operate ships that sail to Mexican Riviera. The main hub of Carnival's west coast cruise operations in Long Beach, while San Francisco serves as a secondary hub. It is noteworthy that Carnival is the only cruise line to base ships in Long Beach year-round for Mexico cruises. Carnival Panorama, the line's newest vessel with 4,008 passengers, is based in Long Beach year-round for trips along the Mexican Riviera. Carnival Radiance, a smaller ship with 2,764 passengers, travels to Mexico year-round out of Long Beach.

3. Alaska

Carnival doesn't offer many Alaska cruises. Cruise lines like Carnival's sister's Princess Cruises and Holland America control most of Alaska cruising. However, Carnival traditionally sends one or two vessels to Alaska every summer, Family cruises are popular during Alaska's short summer cruise season, which occurs between May and September.

4. Bermuda

Between May and October, at least a few Carnival ships sail to Bermuda every year. Two days in Bermuda are included in most of the sailings, which last six nights. The line offers a few shorter Bermuda sailings, along with longer seven-night Bermuda sailings occasionally.

5. Australia

The main focus of Carnival cruises may be U.S. ports. However, not every vessel is based in North America. Carnival has recently dispatched two of its ships to Australia to operate trips from Sydney and Brisbane in what might seem like an unusual divert for a line known for short, accessible, affordable American voyages. Most recently, Carnival Spirit carried 2,124 passengers, and Carnival Splendor carried 3,012 passengers along the Australian coast.
