Carnival Cruise Line will serve as the official cruise line sponsor of the Port of San Diego’s Big Bay Boom, the largest Fourth of July fireworks show on the West Coast. The announcement was made through a recent press release by Carnival, highlighting its involvement in one of San Diego’s most iconic celebrations.
Guests sailing over the holiday on Carnival Radiance, Carnival Firenze, and Carnival Luminosa will enjoy a prime view of the fireworks. These ships will be anchored in the Pacific Ocean near San Diego Bay, giving passengers a front-row experience as the city celebrates America’s 250th birthday.
Carnival will take a leading role in the event, including initiating the countdown for the fireworks show. The brand will be prominently featured throughout the programming and celebrations, further highlighting its connection to the community. Carnival will also participate in community promotions leading up to July 4 and collaborate with the Port of San Diego on special tributes for active-duty service members.
Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line, expressed excitement about the sponsorship, saying, “We’re honored to be part of such a historic milestone and iconic event in San Diego. Being the exclusive cruise line sponsor of the Big Bay Boom gives us a meaningful way to celebrate our connection to this community, to our military families, and to the patriotic spirit that defines Fourth of July.”
This sponsorship aligns with Carnival’s recent announcements about patriotic celebrations at sea for America’s 250th birthday. On July 4, 2026, seven Carnival ships sailing from East Coast homeports will meet near Celebration Key for a unique celebration at sea. These events will include deck parties, themed entertainment, and special food and drink offerings.
Meanwhile, three Carnival ships anchored on the West Coast will host guests for the Big Bay Boom in San Diego. With three ships homeported in Long Beach, Carnival operates the largest cruise operation on the West Coast, making it easy for millions of Southern California residents to enjoy a nearby cruise vacation.
Danielle Moore, Chair of the Port of San Diego Board of Port Commissioners, shared her enthusiasm: “We are thrilled to collaborate with Carnival for next year’s Big Bay Boom program and festivities. Along with Carnival, their cruise ship guests, the local community, and thousands of visitors, we look forward to another spectacular fireworks show and memorable Independence Day celebration across San Diego Bay.”
Carnival Cruise Line’s partnership with the Big Bay Boom highlights the brand’s strong community connection while offering passengers an amazing holiday experience. The combination of fireworks, patriotic celebrations, and cruise vacation fun promises to make July 4, 2026, in San Diego a remarkable celebration.
