Cunard unveils Queen Anne’s New Indian-Themed Restaurant

By Cruise Booking Team

Cunard provided a glimpse of Aranya, the upcoming Indian-themed restaurant set to debut on the Queen Anne in May 2024.

During a VIP event in The Verandah aboard the Queen Victoria, held while docked in Southampton on Dec. 11, 2023, guests were treated to a preview of this immersive dining experience.

Katie McAlister, President of Cunard, expressed excitement about Aranya, “We always strive to deliver unparalleled culinary experiences at sea, and we were absolutely thrilled to share a sneak peak of what’s to come with Aranya, which will be one of the most exciting dining venues aboard our newest ship, the Queen Anne.”

The preview was hosted by Chef Jolly, Surjan Singh, whose culinary career spans three decades in esteemed hotels across India. He has contributed significantly to the Aranya menu’s development and has an illustrious background working in prestigious Indian kitchens.

A range of tantalizing dishes was served, starting with flavorful appetizers like smoked chilly pork belly and roasted sweet potato Tikki. The Main course featured delectable options such as roasted wild turbot and masala roasted cauliflower, while the desserts showcased a trio of delightful treats.

Cunard aims to surprise and captivate guests with Aranya’s rich spice flavors, offering a multi-sensory journey through India’s culinary landscape. The venue’s luxurious interiors, including floor-to-ceiling windows, promise an immersive experience.

Chef Jolly expressed delight in creating this culinary journey, emphasizing the authenticity and quality at the heart of each dish:
“It is an absolute pleasure to be working with Cunard on such an exciting project. Aranya is not just a restaurant, it is a multi-sensory culinary experience that is designed to immerse diners in the rich spice flavors of the Indian subcontinent.”
“Every dish has been curated with authenticity and quality at its heart, resulting in a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation that I hope diners will remember long after their voyage,”

Aranya will be one of four exclusive dining experiences on the Queen Anne, available for an evening supplement, enhancing the array of dining options provided on the ship.
