Book Your Summer 2028 Alaska Cruise with MSC Cruises

By CruiseBooking.com Editorial Team

MSC Cruises has officially launched bookings for its third Alaska season, with sailings scheduled for summer 2028. The line’s ship MSC Poesia will return to Seattle to operate weekly 7-night Alaska itineraries starting April 24, 2028, and running through September 18, 2028.

A Growing Alaska Program

Alaska has become one of the line’s fastest-growing destinations since it launched service there, and this new season marks an expansion of that commitment. Travelers who book early will also have their pick of departure dates across the full summer window, plus the added benefit of sailing on a freshly renovated ship.

MSC Poesia’s Big Refresh

MSC Poesia recently underwent a substantial refurbishment, and the improvements are extensive. The ship now features its own MSC Yacht Club, the line’s exclusive “ship-within-a-ship” concept made up of 69 suites with round-the-clock butler and concierge service. Yacht Club guests get access to a private restaurant, lounge, sundeck with whirlpools, and a dedicated grill and bar area.

Dining options have expanded too, with two new specialty venues onboard: Butcher’s Cut, a steakhouse in the American style, and Kaito Sushi Bar, serving sushi and other Asian dishes. The ship’s wellness offerings have also been upgraded, including an enhanced MSC Aurea Spa, an MSC Gym powered by Technogym, a barbershop, several workout studios, and a new outdoor solarium reserved for Aurea guests.

MSC Cruises CEO Gianni Onorato said the strong response to the line’s first Alaska sailings made expanding the program an easy decision, and that Poesia’s upgrades — especially the new Yacht Club — will let guests experience the destination with an added layer of comfort.

Where the Ship Will Call

The summer 2028 itinerary includes stops in:

What to Expect Onboard and Ashore

According to MSC Poesia Cruise Director Matías Chimicz, guests consistently rave about a handful of experiences: getting close-up views of glaciers, spotting whales, orcas, bears and eagles along the way, and cruising through the Inside Passage during Alaska’s long summer daylight hours. Onboard, passengers can also catch Dirty Dancing: In Concert, a live-to-film show featuring singers, dancers and musicians performing alongside the film.

Booking Now, and What Comes Next

While the 2028 season is newly open for booking, MSC’s 2027 Alaska season (April 26 – September 27) is also currently available. Between Alaska seasons, MSC Poesia repositions through the Panama Canal, running Grand Voyage sailings between Miami and Seattle.
