Royal Caribbean Stops All Visits to Labadee in Haiti

By Cruise Booking Team

Royal Caribbean International has announced the following: “Due to the evolving situation in Haiti, and in an abundance of caution, we’re temporally suspending our visits to Labadee for our entire fleet.” A temporary cessation of all forthcoming visits to its private Haitian resort has been issued in this official statement. Gang violence in Haiti continues to escalate even now.
The company is keeping an eye on the situation through its Global Security & Intelligence Team and will make further decisions based on their assessments.
Affected itineraries include the Symphony of the Seas, which was scheduled for a seven-night Western Caribbean cruise, including a stop at Labadee on March 19. Instead, guests will now enjoy an additional day at sea and extended time in Falmouth, Jamaica.

Similarly, the Mariner of the Seas, set for a five-night journey from Port Canaveral with a planned stop in Labadee on March 18, will now head to Nassau, Bahamas. Likewise, the Grandeur of the Seas will replace its scheduled visit to Labadee with a stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay, Bahamas, on March 23.
Royal Caribbean International has informed affected passengers that any pre-paid shore excursions for Labadee will be refunded to their original payment method. The cruise line’s decision also impacts other ships scheduled for March visits to Labadee, including Oasis of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas, Adventure of the Seas, Independence of the Seas, Odyssey of the Seas, and Explorer of the Seas.
