The package can be enjoyed at the bars, buffets, and main restaurants, Ocean Cay, and other selected exclusive restaurants. However, it excludes some signature venues such as Coffee, Venchi 1878 establishments, Jean Philippe Chocolate and Lavazza Coffee Shop, and Crepes & Gelato.
What’s Not Included in MSC Drink Packages
- When it comes to gifts in the form of drinkware, hotel room beverage sets, minibars, and more or less unique venues (Jean-Philippe cafes, for instance, or Lavazza and Venchi 1878 out of-the-ordinary venues) will be excluded. These products are excluded.
- Below the Medium Extra level, there might be discounts on a bottle wine. Bottles are excluded from being discounted.
- Different brands are sometimes named on the ship, depending on the season or on an itinerary.
Rules and Restrictions to Know Before Buying
- Non-shareable-one order per sailing instead of per day. One order for one drink; if the offer is for sharing, it becomes null and void.
- If an adult purchases a package, everyone in the cabin must get a package also (minors get the minors package).
- Price of package includes tips (may be imposed local port taxes).
- From 1 April 2025, Premium Extra (included Yacht Club) allows for a maximum of 15 alcoholic beverages per day (6 A.M. to 6 A.M.); non-alcoholic beverages remain unlimited.
- In case you go for a drink worth more than the maximum price defined within the package (i.e., $20 cocktail with $16 max = $4 extra), you will be charged only for that difference.
- Disembarkation days are not included in package days.
Where Are MSC Drink Packages Valid?
- Almost all bars spread throughout the ship sell drinks with this package voiding restrictions for such purchases to include the main dining rooms and buffets.
- Specialty restaurants allow minors to eat with an adult in possession of any qualifying package, and the Premium Extra (and sometimes Easy Plus as long as the holder still has it) will be accepted as well.
- Maybe there might be fewer selections available on Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the private island, as compared to those available on the ship.
How to Save Money on Drink Packages
- Buy off the ship: Occasionally, that promotional discount can sail as high as 30 to 35% on regional specials. An MSC discount is considered nearly about 20% higher than the sorting price onboard.
- Sail: 7+ night cruises make the $-per-day cheaper, opposite to the shorter itinerary.
- Calculate: Check for the price to break even with whatever you can anyhow buy from the bar (so if it includes cocktails, coffee, and bottled waters). Think for a while of the time you will spend off the ship at ports.
- Know your location: There can be slight differences in names and packages in North America or Europe/the Middle East.
Best Packages for Short vs. Long Cruises
- Less than 6 nights: Generally going to be cheaper under a la carte setup. Premium Extra is just right for some cocktails at the drinks bar each day, now and then, maybe with a snack or two.
- 7 or more nights: This comes with the on-board discount (also applies pre-cruise), and families sometimes try this: Minors for kids and Premium Extra for adults.
- For those that want to keep fit-and-sober, Alcohol-Free means free water, juices, specialty coffees, and mocktails so you are never charged for the booze you will never consume.
Final word

Do I have to tip at the bar if I have a package?
