Carnival Cruise Line celebrated America’s 250th anniversary with a special patriotic event aboard the Carnival Pride at the Port of Baltimore on Sunday. The celebration brought together local community partners, veterans, business leaders, and government officials to honor the historic milestone and highlight Carnival’s strong connection with the Baltimore cruise community.
As a leading U.S. cruise line, Carnival Cruise Line continues to create memorable experiences for guests while supporting the communities where its ships operate. Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, shared that the company is proud to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary in its homeport cities and bring people together to recognize the nation’s history, local communities, and military service members.
The Carnival Pride welcomed guests with a large 40-foot inflatable patriotic Uncle Sam’s hat displayed on the top deck during the embarkation process. The attraction created a festive atmosphere as passengers began their cruise vacation from Baltimore.
Carnival’s America 250th event also included a special military tribute honoring active-duty service members, local veterans, and first responders. Each military member and veteran received a limited-edition America 250th challenge coin as a gesture of appreciation for their dedication and service.
The celebration added family-friendly entertainment with a special appearance by Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat, who joined the event wearing a patriotic outfit to mark the anniversary.
The Baltimore celebration is part of Carnival Cruise Line’s wider America 250th patriotic events planned throughout the summer. Additional homeport celebrations will take place in Long Beach, Tampa, and Jacksonville, connecting more cruise communities across the United States.
Guests sailing on Carnival cruise ships will enjoy special onboard activities designed around the America250 theme. Several ships across the fleet will also come together to watch major fireworks displays along the Atlantic and Pacific coasts.
Carnival Cruise Line’s America 250th celebrations combine cruising, community engagement, and national pride while giving guests unique ways to experience this historic anniversary. The events reflect Carnival’s ongoing commitment to its homeports, passengers, and the communities that support its cruise operations.
