Cunard Unveils Queen Victoria Refurbishment

By CruiseBooking.com Editorial Team

Cunard has announced major renovation plans for the Queen Victoria, with the ship expected to return from drydock this autumn boasting updated signature spaces.

The refresh will also touch Cunard Grills suites and bring a new addition: The Pavilion Wellness Café.

Katie McAlister, Cunard’s president, shared her excitement about the project: “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to refine the experiences and spaces the Queen Victoria offers, with every decision approached with deep respect for the heritage and charm that make her who she is.”

She continued, “From the Grand Lobby to the Queen’s Room, every detail has been thoughtfully considered to ensure the Queen Victoria continues to deliver the timeless luxury she is known and loved for. We can’t wait to welcome guests back onboard to experience these beautiful enhancements for themselves.”

According to a Cunard press release, the vessel will head into drydock at Damen Shiprepair in Rotterdam between October 17 and November 5, 2026.

Each of the ship’s signature spaces is getting a facelift, starting with a revamped Grand Lobby designed to make a stronger first impression on arriving guests.

The Queens Room, one of the ship’s most recognizable spaces, is also due for reinvention—setting a new stage for the line’s classic Afternoon Tea service, live music performances, and Gala Evenings.

Meanwhile, Queens Grill and Princess Grill Suites will see upgrades in the form of plush furnishings and more refined design touches throughout.

On top of that, eight new Britannia staterooms are being added to the ship, three of which belong to a brand-new premium tier called Britannia Deluxe Oceanview. These rooms will feature floor-to-ceiling windows offering sweeping ocean views.

Bookings for the new staterooms open on July 20, covering voyages departing from November 11, 2026, onward.

The Queen Victoria will also become the third ship in Cunard’s fleet to feature The Pavilion Wellness Café, joining Queen Anne (which debuted the concept in 2024) and Queen Elizabeth (which added it in 2025).

This wellness-oriented dining venue will offer breakfast, lunch, and all-day options, with a menu built around plant-based dishes alongside responsibly sourced meat, fish, and dairy.
