Port of Los Angeles Celebrates Arrival of Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas

By Cruise Booking Team

The Port of Los Angeles rolled out the welcome mat for Royal Caribbean International’s Quantum of the Seas earlier this month, marking the start of its winter cruise season from the World Cruise Center.
The 2014-built Quantum-class ship takes over from the Ovation of the Seas, which called Los Angeles home during the summer of 2025. In a recent social media post, the port highlighted the Quantum’s arrival, noting its status as one of the largest cruise ships currently sailing on the West Coast.

From now through the summer of 2026, the Quantum of the Seas will offer a series of three- to six-night cruises departing from Los Angeles, exploring Baja California and the Mexican Riviera. Ports of call include fan-favorites like Ensenada and Catalina Island, with weekend sailings featuring overnight stays in Cabo San Lucas and two relaxing days at sea. These itineraries are designed to blend vibrant coastal destinations with ample time to enjoy the ship’s amenities.

The Quantum’s nearly year-round West Coast program will wrap up in September 2026, when the 158,000-ton vessel repositions to Brisbane, Australia, for a 2026-27 winter season in the South Pacific. In the meantime, Royal Caribbean is keeping the Port of Los Angeles busy with the Navigator of the Seas, a Voyager-class ship that sails year-round from the port.

The Navigator, at 142,000 tons, offers cruises to additional Mexican Riviera destinations like Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta and will continue its program until late 2026, when it hands the baton to the Voyager of the Seas.

During the 2025 summer season, the Ovation of the Seas joined the Navigator of the Seas in Los Angeles, offering a robust lineup of West Coast cruises before embarking on a repositioning voyage to Asia in late September.

With the Quantum now in place, Royal Caribbean continues to solidify Los Angeles as a key hub for its diverse and exciting cruise offerings.
