Senior Advisor Mark Conroy joins Silversea Cruises

By Cruise Booking Team

Mark Conroy, the managing director for the Americas at Silversea Cruises, has been appointed senior advisor to support the sales team.

Joe Leon will oversee trade sales in the Americas as head of sales, reporting to Massimo Brancaleoni, senior vice president of global sales.

Mark has been an invaluable asset to Silversea Cruises over the years, and we congratulate him on 50 years of success in the travel and hospitality industry. The CEO of Silversea’s U.S. operations, Mark, has been at the forefront of our company’s growth in the market since he joined in 2016. He has built strong personal relationships with travel agents throughout the region to help Silversea establish itself as the world’s leading ultra-luxury cruise line. In our industry, only some people possess Mark’s depth of experience, knowledge, and expertise; he has left a lasting impression. Silversea Cruises president and CEO Barbara Muckermann said that Mark would support the transition of leadership in the United States market while pledging his expertise to the sales team.

Having worked in the cruise industry since 1973, Conroy has held senior positions with cruise lines such as Diamond Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, as well as with Renaissance Cruises and Royal Viking Line.

Conroy noted that he has been privileged to lead Silversea Cruises’ America team along with some of the industry’s brightest talent.

As a Senior Advisor, I continue to provide my expertise to support our cruise line’s strategic growth after 50 years in the travel and hospitality industry. I thank Barbara Muckermann, Jason Liberty, and all my colleagues at Silversea Cruises and Royal Caribbean Group for the unwavering support I have received over the years and for this new opportunity.

We are grateful for the support of our trade partners, many of whom have become close friends with us. Their commitment to our guests has been and will continue to be fundamental to the cruise line’s sales strategy. Furthermore, I would like to thank Silversea’s guests for their passion, loyalty, and dedication – I will remain available to them while I transition to this new role.
