On Wednesday, July 19 in Eemshaven, the Netherlands, Silversea completed the handover of its newly-built Silver Nova. Jason Liberty, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, joined Silversea President Barbara Muckermann, Meyer Werft executives, and other guests at the Silver Nova’s launch.
Royal Caribbean Group marks an important milestone on its journey to achieve net zero emissions with the Silver Nova, the most environmentally friendly cruise ship ever built. On Monday, August 14, the Silver Nova will sail roundtrip from Venice for its maiden voyage of seven days. The ship will make stops at Piran, Slovenia (15 Aug 0800-1830), Zadar, Croatia, Dubrovnik, Croatia, Kotor, Montenegro, Split, Croatia, and Rovinj, Croatia. It is scheduled to return to Venice on August 21.
The Silver Nova will begin its Mediterranean season in Venice, Italy, Civitavecchia, Rome, Monaco, Barcelona and Lisbon, Portugal after its inaugural voyage. In addition to a Grill restaurant, Atlantide, a SALT Kitchen, and Kaiseki, a Japanese restaurant, the Silver Nova was constructed at Meyer Werft.
