Almost every complaint about a Carnival Pride cabin traces back to one question: what is on the deck above it? Pride puts its public rooms at the bottom of the ship and on the Lido, which leaves the middle decks quiet and both ends exposed.

Deck 1: The Noise Sandwich
Deck 1 is the cheapest cabin deck on Carnival Pride, and the pricing is honest. Its 151 staterooms run from 1101 to 1265, with the Butterflies Lounge forward and the Beauties dance club aft. Butterflies hosts the Punchliner Comedy Club, karaoke and art auctions; Beauties runs late. Everything in between sits directly under the Promenade deck, where the casino, RedFrog Pub, Heroes Tribute Bar and the atrium bars keep their own hours.
In the forward area, you should definitely avoid cabins 1101 through 1108 as they have a corridor that is busy at all times due to its proximity to the crew service closets. In the aft area, cabins that have been consistently recommended against are 1238 and 1240, which are located close to the dance club. This is just an indication since the dance club's lower area has been converted into cabins during the 2023 refit along with Chef's Table. The launderette is opposite 1219.
One thing to know before shopping this deck: there are no balconies on Deck 1. The choice is a standard interior or a 185 sq ft oceanview with a picture window, and the oceanviews are good value away from both ends. Older guides still quote a cut-price category 1A here with upper and lower berths; it is no longer in Carnival’s Pride inventory.
Deck 8: Everything the Lido Does, You Hear
Deck 8 Panorama looks like the smart buy: high up, close to the pools and buffet, priced below the suites. The catch is that every cabin from 8101 to 8277 sits under a public space rather than under another cabin, which is the most reliable predictor of a bad night on any ship.
Two stretches are worse than the rest. The aft cabins sit beneath Serenity, the adults-only retreat with its own pool and whirlpool, so you get furniture dragged across the deck from around dawn and again when the bar opens. The run between the forward and midship stairwells sits under the Venus pool, the main pool with the retractable SkyDome roof and a stage used for live music and deck contests.
The indented balconies here sit under an overhang from the deck above, so they get less sun than the brochure photography implies. Deck 8 is also the one cabin deck with no launderette: quieter corridor, longer walk with the laundry bag. If you want this deck for the location, drop one floor and lose almost nothing.

Cabin numbers 5241 and 5243 should get their very own warning. Cabins 5241 and 5243 are the only two category 9A cabins on the ship, where Carnival offers its guests a "Premium Balcony Stateroom (Obstructed View)", that is, 230 sq ft in the interior and 55 sq ft balcony, from which you can see absolutely nothing. Premium balcony stateroom category without obstructed view is 9Z and it includes 85 sq ft balcony. There are six such cabins available: 6277, 6279, 7299, 7301, 8235 and 8237. If a big premium balcony is what you are looking for booking, those are the six numbers to ask for.
Deck 4: Short Balconies, Odd Windows and a Storage Closet
The Deck 4 Main is one of the most confused cabin decks on Carnival Pride, due to its combination of really great cabins and a few others that look more impressive in photos than in real life. Carnival describes the category 4K cabins on this deck as "Interior with French Door (Obstructed View)". That description does a great job of describing half the story only, especially the storied views. The cabins numbered 4105-4155 and 4188-4207 feature French doors, opening inside the cabin. They do not have a balcony, only a railing right next to the walkway and a lifeboat or a tender behind that railing. The four accessible cabins in this group (4202, 4203, 4205 and 4207) feature fixed picture windows instead.
It doesn’t automatically mean they are a bad buy. They are priced as interiors, so the daylight is a bonus and repeat guests book them deliberately. Just know that people walk past the glass all day.
Junior Suites 4226 and 4235 are the two rooms that you can use to avoid paying suite money (a cruiser's slang term that means paying a premium price for a top-tier stateroom). The balcony is about 20 square feet, which is roughly half the size of a standard Pride balcony. There is also a cabin window that looks onto a stairway on Deck 3 so people walking by are at eye level with the glass. At suite money the aft Vista Suites 4228 and 4237 offer a wraparound balcony of 220 square feet and the most private aft-facing space, on the ship.
Two smaller details are worth catching. The grey block beside cabin 4202 on the deck plan is a stewards’ storage closet that generates noise in the early morning, and the launderette sits opposite 4230. Forward on Deck 4 you are alongside the top level of the Taj Mahal Theater and the Circle C on the Carnival Cruise Line teen room: nothing overnight, but a lot of movement between shows.
Cabins Beside the Kids and Teen Spaces
Carnival Pride brings its youth programming to the cabin decks of the Lido deck. This works well for families. Not so much for guests staying nearby. Camp Ocean on the Carnival Cruise Line is located on Deck 5. Runs, until 10 pm most nights. It offers activities and Night Owls babysitting that goes all the way to 1 am. The noise here is corridor traffic and doors rather than bass, so light sleepers only need to move a few rooms along. Forward cabins on Deck 5 have a second issue: they sit above the top level of the main theatre, so rehearsals and the late show can be audible.
Launderettes, Service Closets and Connecting Doors
Carnival Pride has five self-service launderettes on board, located on decks 1, 4, 5, 6 and 7. They open at 6:30 am and close at midnight. There's no launderette on Deck 8. Each of these washing areas is a riot of slamming doors, dryer noise, and conversations. So you should avoid the cabins opposite the machines, such as 1219 on Deck 1, 4230 on Deck 4, 5270 on Deck 5, 6102 on Deck 6 and 7267 on Deck 7. Cabin 6102 is particularly disappointing as it is one of the largest interiors on board and faces right across the launderette.
Connecting cabins are the other quiet problem. Pride has them on decks 4 through 8 across most balcony and interior grades, and a connecting door carries sound far better than a wall. If you are not travelling with the family next door, ask your agent to filter them out.

The safest booking on Carnival Pride is a midship balcony on deck 6 Empress or deck 7 Verandah. Both have cabins above and below, both are near the midship stairwell and lifts and both avoid the indented area where the lifeboats cause problems. Categories 8C, 8D and 8E in that band are the workhorses of the ship.
For more outdoor space, the extended balcony grades 8J, 8K, 8M and 8N give you roughly 50 per cent more balcony for a modest premium.
