Yesterday marked the commencement of Holland America Line’s 2024 Grand World Voyage aboard the Zuiderdam, setting sail from Fort Lauderdale’s Port Everglades.

This ambitious 127-night journey straddles a vast global route, covering 46 ports. The voyage features the unique experience of traversing both the Panama and Suez Canals and includes diverse destinations across Asia, the Mediterranean, and the Pacific Ocean.

Holland America Line has provided an opportunity for guests to explore a myriad of natural wonders, spanning from Panama to Sri Lanka, and promises extended stays at various global locales.

Key cities where the Zuiderdam will make overnight calls include Tokyo, Naha, and Kobe in Japan; Shanghai in China; Hong Kong; Mumbai in India; and Istanbul in Turkey. Additionally, the ship, built in 2002, is scheduled for late-night departures in several other destinations, such as Da Nang in Vietnam, Mykonos in Greece, and Colombo in Sri Lanka.

A notable feature of this itinerary is its exploration of the Amazon Rainforest region. The Zuiderdam offers scenic cruising along the Amazon River and stop at various locations, including Macapá, Boca da Valéria, Santarém, Manaus, and Parintins.

Before its return to Florida, the cruise includes visits to the Caribbean, Central America, the Mexican Riviera, Hawaii, Guam, the Far East, Southeast Asia, the Indian Ocean, United Arab Emirates, the Red Sea, Oman, Greece, Italy, Spain, the Azores, and additional destinations.

The Zuiderdam, part of Holland America Line’s four-ship Vista Class and first launched in December 2002, is scheduled to arrive back at Port Everglades on May 11, 2024. This 82,000-ton vessel, accommodating 2,000 guests in double occupancy, is equipped with various amenities and facilities, including the Explorers Lounge and the Ocean Bar, as well as several dining venues like the signature Pinnacle Grill Steakhouse.
