MSC Cruises has confirmed that it will return to Alaska for a second summer season in 2027, offering travelers another chance to explore one of the most scenic regions in the world. The cruise line announced that the MSC Poesia will sail from Seattle on seven-night itineraries, visiting destinations across Alaska and Canada.
The Alaska cruises are set to depart every Monday throughout the summer season, running through September 2027. This announcement comes after the overwhelming demand and enthusiasm MSC experienced during its first Alaska season in 2026. Gianni Onorato, MSC Cruises CEO, shared that the company is proud to provide travelers from around the globe with more options for destinations and embarkation ports.
For the 2027 season, the MSC Poesia will call at several iconic Alaskan ports, including Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, Tracy Arm, and Juneau. The ship will also make a stop in Victoria, Canada. At each port of call, guests can choose from a range of shore excursions, from wildlife-watching tours to culinary-focused experiences, giving them the chance to experience Alaska’s natural beauty and local culture.
Before its Alaska season, the MSC Poesia will sail from Miami during the 2026–27 winter season. These cruises will include longer voyages to the Southern Caribbean and Central America, offering guests extended itineraries with a variety of destinations. The ship will also operate an 18-night Panama Canal cruise before returning to Alaska, giving travelers an unforgettable cruise experience.
MSC Cruises also revealed that the MSC Poesia will undergo a major refurbishment ahead of its first Alaska season. The upgrades, scheduled for May 2026 in Europe, will include the ship-within-a-ship MSC Yacht Club. Guests will also enjoy new features such as two specialty restaurants, a new sports bar, and upgraded wellness spaces. These improvements are designed to enhance the onboard experience and provide world-class amenities for every traveler.
Built in 2008, the MSC Poesia has been refreshed to offer modern facilities while maintaining its elegant design. With updated dining, entertainment, and wellness options, the ship promises comfort, style, and excitement for every guest. MSC Cruises’ return to Alaska in 2027 ensures travelers can enjoy stunning landscapes, memorable excursions, and top-tier onboard experiences.
