Royal Caribbean Cancels Cruises Onboard Radiance of the Seas

By Cruise Booking Team

The Radiance of the Seas has been cancelled for a second sailing. Currently docked in Seward, the 2001-built vessel won’t sail as scheduled on Sep. 8 due to propulsion issues.

We have sent our best experts to work immediately on restoring Radiance of the Seas’ propulsion system,” Royal Caribbean said in a statement sent to guests who had booked on the ship. Due to these circumstances, our Radiance of the Seas sailing on September 8th, 2023 has been canceled due to the required repairs not being completed in time.

As part of its summer cruise through Alaska, the 2,000-guest vessel was scheduled to sail on the date in question for seven nights. An open-jaw itinerary from Vancouver to Seward included sightseeing on Hubbard Glacier, Juneau, Sitka, Skagway, and Icy Strait Point.

Royal Caribbean apologizes for the disappointment. The company understands how much time and effort goes into planning a cruise. Passengers affected by the cancellation will receive a full refund of their cruise fare and a 100 percent Future Cruise Credit (FCC) for use on a future sailing.

Royal Caribbean said reimbursements would be processed within 14 business days and would cover taxes and fees, pre-paid packages and gratuities, amenities, shore excursions, and any flights booked through it. Also included is reimbursement of nonrefundable prepurchased travel fees such as flights, hotels, train tickets or rental cars. The company is set to cover changes up to $250 for domestic changes and $500 for international ones.

A sailing on the Radiance of the Seas scheduled for Sep. 1 had already been cancelled by Royal Caribbean due to propulsion problems.
