Carnival Adventure is a Grand-class cruise ship operated by Carnival Cruise Line. Originally built by Fincantieri and delivered in 2001, she began her journey as Golden Princess, sailing from Southampton and eventually visiting all seven continents. After years of global voyages including South America, Asia, and Oceania, she was transferred in 2017 to P&O Cruises Australia and renamed Pacific Adventure. Alongside their sister ship Pacific Encounter, she continued regional sailings in Oceania. In 2024, Carnival Corporation announced that P&O would be absorbed into Carnival Cruise Line. By March 2025, Pacific Adventure officially joined the Carnival fleet under her new name Carnival Adventure marking a fresh chapter in her storied career.

With 13 decks full of excitement, Carnival Adventure is a great choice for families, couples, and friends looking for nonstop fun. Departing from Sydney, with select sailings from Melbourne and Singapore, the ship offers something for everyone, four inviting pools, thrilling waterslides, and the action-packed Edge Adventure Park featuring ziplining, rock climbing, and abseiling. Start your day with heart-pumping activities or a splash down the slides, then wind down with a relaxing morning by the pool. When hunger strikes, gather the crew for a delicious family lunch with plenty of dining options to choose from. Carnival Adventure truly brings fun to every part of your cruise.
Carrying 2,636 passengers and 1,100 crew, Carnival Adventure brings a fresh identity to a ship that once sailed as Pacific Adventure with P&O Cruises Australia. Set to officially launch under Carnival Cruise Line in March 2025, this Grand-class ship offers 21 dining options, eight bars and nightclubs, two thrilling waterslides, and an Elemis spa for relaxation. Originally built in Italy in 2001 and sailing as Golden Princess for Princess Cruises, the ship received a full makeover in 2020 before transferring to P&O. Now rebranded for the Carnival fleet, it retains many of the same features, including fan-favorite restaurants like The Pantry, Dragon Lady, and Shell & Bones to continue appealing to the Australian market.
Carnival Adventure’s layout mirrors that of Carnival Encounter, with clear spaces designed for both families and adults. Decks 16–18 offer water slides, sundecks, and access to the exclusive Byron Beach Club. Families will enjoy Deck 15’s Shark Shack and family pool area, while Deck 14 features The Pantry, an adults-only Oasis pool, and additional cabins. Entertainment venues, including the Marquee Theater and Black Circus, are located on decks 5–7 alongside dining areas like the Waterfront main dining room. Though the maiden voyage date hasn’t been released, the ship will remain based in Sydney, sailing itineraries across Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific.
Guests routinely tip the shipboard crew in recognition of their hard work and great service. 100% of your gratuities go to the crew with whom you engage, such as your cabin attendants, dining and culinary services staff, and other members of the onboard team who work behind the scenes to improve your entire cruise experience. Applying this charge expedites the recognition process while also ensuring that the crew benefits from your generosity.
To assist you in planning, we have supplied the following onboard gratuity tips:
Pre-Pay
Gratuities can be added during the booking process or up to the sailing date. Guests who have booked directly with Carnival can add pre-paid gratuities through Carnival.com. If a traveler booked via CruiseBooking.com, they could contact our agent to add pre-paid gratuities to their reservation. Prepaid gratuities appear in the 'Miscellaneous Charge' box on the confirmation and in the guest's E-Documents.
Sail and Sign®
If passengers do not pre-pay their gratuities, the suggested amount per person will be charged to their Sail & Sign account from the second to the last day of the cruise. If a passenger is dissatisfied with the service provided, they can contact the passenger Services desk while on board. This allows us to handle their concerns in a timely and suitable manner. Gratuities can be changed per the guest's request after they have been posted to their account while on board. Gratuities posted to a guest's Sail & Sign account are deemed final after the trip, with no modifications made.
