Utopia of the Seas
In July 2024, Utopia of the Seas will set sail as the newest member of Royal Caribbean International's Oasis Class. It proudly stands as the sixth massive cruise ship in this impressive collection. With room for more than 6,700 passengers, the boat got its name after considering nearly 25 different trademarked names.
What makes Utopia of the Seas special is that it's the first in its class to use eco-friendly Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) as fuel. This is a big step for the environment, and it's the second Royal Caribbean ship to adopt this eco-friendly technology, following the example of the Icon of the Seas.
Royal Caribbean's Utopia of the Seas, although the total number of cabins remains undisclosed, promises a diverse array of accommodations. With 20 distinct types, the ship caters to various group sizes, offering layouts made for three, four, five, and larger groups.
Entertainment abounds on board, from live music at Music Hall to thrilling high dive shows in the Aqua Theater. Enjoy outdoor movie nights by the pool or test your luck at the Casino Royale. And think about having great downtime for networking and socializing, with over 40 dining and drinking options and amazing shows.
Starting from November 11, 2023, if you're staying in a regular room or a Junior Suite, you'll see a daily service gratuity of USD 18.00 per person. For those in Suites, the daily charge is a bit more, at USD 20.50 per person. This amount is automatically added to your SeaPass account every day to thank the crew for their hard work, including those in dining, bar, and culinary services, stateroom attendants, and behind-the-scenes hotel services teams.
If, by any chance, you feel the service doesn't meet your expectations, you can change this daily amount by visiting Guest Services on the ship until the morning of your departure. If you've already paid your gratuity in advance, you won't see a daily charge during your cruise.
The automatic gratuity is a common practice in the industry and is meant to make recognizing and rewarding the crew members who make your cruise better a smoother process. We appreciate your generosity in recognizing our staff's hard work.
Also, it's good to know that there's an 18% gratuity added to all drink and mini bar purchases and a 20% gratuity added to spa and salon expenses. If you want to prepay your gratuities, you can call 866-562-7625 before your cruise. If you've booked through a travel advisor, make sure to contact them to add prepaid gratuities before you set sail.
*Guests who have already prepaid won't be affected by these changes, but for those planning to pay onboard, the new rates will apply from November 11, 2023.
