Holland America to Debut New ‘Glacier Day’ in 2024

By Cruise Booking Team

According to a press release, Holland America Line will introduce “Glacier Day” on its Alaska cruises in 2024.

Guests can immerse themselves in Alaska’s history and culture through Alaska Up Close presentations as well as culinary and beverage experiences. Ticket sales start on April 27 in Vancouver and May 4 in Seattle for the 2024 season.

A variety of activities are included in Glacier Day, including sightings, scenic commentary, presentations, informational viewing stations, photo opportunities, Dutch Pea Soup on deck, Glacier Ice cocktails, talks by Glacier Bay National Park Rangers and Huna cultural interpreters, and an open bow.

In addition to authentic programming, localized cuisine, and special events such as Glacier Day, Holland America Line continues to strive to provide regional and local experiences on board every cruise. Beth Bodensteiner, chief commercial officer of Holland America Line, said. To ensure our guests are fully immersed in all facets of Alaska, we cultivate like-minded partnerships and refine everything from cocktail recipes to wildlife maps.”

Holland America Line offers Alaska cruises and cruisetours from Vancouver and Seattle through September 2024 aboard the Eurodam, Koningsdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Noordam, Westerdam, and Zaandam. A 28-day Arctic Circle Solstice Legendary Voyage including 12 Alaska ports also is available along with seven-day cruises.

As part of every Alaska cruise, you will visit one or more of Alaska’s iconic glacier destinations: Glacier Bay National Park, Hubbard Glacier, Dawes Glacier, and Twin Sawyer Glaciers.

Furthermore, Holland America Line will debut a new beer on all Alaskan cruises called “Killer Whale Pale Ale”. This beer was made in collaboration with Pike Brewing and features notes of citrus, honey, and tropical fruits. As well as Sam Ross’ cocktails, guests can enjoy those on all Alaska ships: Juneau AK, Klondiker, PNW Penicillin, Mosquito, Midnight Sun and Frontier Champagne Flip.
