The artwork on board includes original paintings that were once aboard the Hurtigruten ship MS Harald Jarl. The MS Trollfjord sundeck and jacuzzi are located on Deck 9. The ship's spacious two-story panorama Her lounge is above the bow. With floor-to-ceiling windows, the lounge is flooded with natural light and offers spectacular views.
Hurtigruten continues a nearly 100-year-old tradition of contributing to marine research in collaboration with the Norwegian Aquatic Institute (NIVA).
MS Trollfjord is equipped with a so-called Ferry Box that automatically collects data from the waters it navigates. Every 15 minutes, a science station in the forward port pump room goes online and sends valuable environmental data about salinity, temperature, algae, particles, and more to her NIVA. This is part of Hurtigruten's proud tradition of social responsibility to support the science and communities around us.
It is not customary to tip Hurtigruten ships on coastal voyages. However, tip boxes are placed inside the restaurant with envelopes if it is felt that flight attendants should be rewarded for outstanding service.
